Whats behind the name
As a designer it’s so tempting to keep changing and coming up with new things – and when it comes to your brand, thats something that’s quite damaging to do…!
However, I’ve done it again… although this time it’s here to stay.
Starting out as ‘prints by steve’ back in 2020, I did a bunch of different designs, lots of football and subbuteo art, and lots of football art gifts, but never really had a niche
Over the last year or so I’ve locked down to just football and last year I started to create a series of products that could meet any different club grassroots or big names.
This was super helpful to set out a range of products for football gifts, and became a great series to focus on .
When choosing the name, Halfwayline or Half Way Line sat perfectly in what I was looking to do – illustrations and art that crossed any team, and not to mention the ability to use the halfway line as a logo play for the main mark.
Growing the brand up
This year, I have grown in scale, size and reach. Managed to be booked for a few events and even asked to be part of a popup shop in London or Bluewater, which is exciting. Additionally, I discovered that there is a large football brand using the halfway centre circle logo as its sole logo mark too… so it was time to evolve… !
As I love the logo mark anyway, I needed to pull something around it that could be used in various ways. So after some playing, I settled on the new logo, where I can use it in a variety of colours.
I love the vibrant bright new colour palette of the brand and this will begin to appear more over the coming months as we roll it out into a new website and area.
